Today Mega Man turns 22. If you payed attention to any Mega Man news, you would know that Mega Man is having his 10th classic outing early next year. The Mega Man 10 (or Rockman 10 at least) website has opened up, showing the official trailer. You can find the website here (Update: Mega Man 10 english website is up in all of it's pixelated glory). This month's Nintendo Power has given the world it's first look at Mega Man 10. It features this cover on newstands:

In celebration, I will give you 22 random facts about Mega Man that you may or may not know.

- Mega Man's nickname "The Blue Bomber" came from Nintendo Powers 7th issue.
- Proto Man was the original design for Mega Man.
- There is a Mega Man 1 and 3 on the PC, but no Mega Man 2.
- Chun-Li appears in the opening of Mega Man 9 as a reporter, parodying her role in the first Street Fighter film.
- A few NPCS from Mega Man Legends appear as NPCs in Mega Man Battle Network.
- Mega Man 2 was almost never made, as the original was unpopular.
- Mega Man replaced Captain Commando as the unofficial mascot of Capcom.
- Darkstalker's Felicia has moves where she wears the Mega Man costume in a few parody fighting games.
- Although Akira Kitamura is the real creator of Mega Man, Keiji Inafune is often created with this title.
- Like Protoman, Zero was the original design for Mega Man X.
- MegaMan.exe and Zero are playable in Onimusha Blade Warriors.
- In the instruction manual for the original Mega Man, Dr. Light's name is "Dr. Wright".
- One of Mega Man's names before being finalized was "Rainbow Man".
- Rockman was changed to Mega Man during localization because Capcom VP Joseph Morici didn't like the name.
- Mega Man is blue because it was a more prominent color on the NES.
- The first voice of Mega Man was from Japanese Voice actress Hekiru Shiina in a CD Drama.
- Although later there was an actual arcade series, Mega Man's first arcade outing was with Mega Man 3.
- Mega Man and Protoman's cars from Mega Man Battle & Chase are in Mega Man ZX.
- Inti Creates made Mega Man ZX Advent, which had an 8-bit Mega Man minigame. They later would make MM9.
- Buying and playing Mega Man 9 on the Xbox 360 will give you a free 8-bit Mega Man gamerpic.
- The Mega Man cartoon originally had a style similar to Inafune's, but was redone to fit with the
- Mega Man Star Force contained various textures from a non-existant 3D Mega Man Battle Network game.
