Yesterday, The Kartel visited Dolby Laboratories' offices in San Francisco to check out numerous trailers, including one of the upcoming weekend blockbuster, Avatar, in Dolby 3D. We were even treated to a very special 3D trailer that not many people get to see, which proved that the technology can indeed be used for even the most classic of film franchises. When it was all said and done, we were revitalized by the potential that 3D brings to a more cinematic movie going experience. This weekend's release of Avatar in numerous 3D formats, including Dolby 3D, is a testament to how movie producers are embracing this new format. It is rumored that Avatar is the most expensive movie ever produced, and was built from the ground up to be optimzed for 3D viewing. |
