You'd think that the downfall for cops who bust drug dealers would be crossing the line and start using drugs themselves. So it's rather ironic that for these police officers, it was Wii Bowling that did them in.
Undercover drug investigators in Polk County, FL were in the middle of a raid, when they decided that the best way to top it all off was to play a bit of Wii. The whole thing started out like an episode of CSI Miami, and somehow turned into an episode of X-Play on G4. Officers stormed a home of a convicted drug dealer with guns drawn and flashlights glaring, scoping out the crime scene. Next thing you know, they found Wii Sports, and then decided to face off to see who can bowl the perfect game. Little did they know, a wireless security camera connected to a computer at the scene was capturing their every movement.
While some officers were hauling off evidence, others where in intense competition, at times pumping their fists after throwing a strike. The competition went on well over an hour.
The Polk County Sheriff, Grady Judd, who watched the video during an interview last week, called the situation an "embarrassment". I'm sure he was referring to how the officers weren't wearing the wrist straps while playing, a clearly unsafe procedure. Yeah, the police should set better examples than that.
