People with some form of talent, a dream, and a lot of extra time on their hands can make some pretty strange products. Luckily for all us gamers, one such person that meets all the above has not forgotten the world of gaming. Or that of personal hygiene. What has this person created? Soap, of all things! But obviously not just any old bar of soap: they're gaming soaps! [nextpage] Chrystal Doucette, a woman that goes by the name of Digitalsoaps, has created gaming- and gadget-related bars of soap, or as she says, “hand-poured glycerin soaps.” I’m not exactly sure what that means, but the whole idea apparently started on a “whim,” according to her profile on Etsy.com, the site where you can purchase her soap.

Fact! I am not a PS3 fan, I love my Xbox and purchase all the multiplatform games for the 360. But seeing as how I admitted to wanting to play tons of cool PS3 games I only think it is fair to Xbox fanboy’s out there to create a list of Xbox exclusives that PS3 fans secretly wish they could play, even though they would never admit to wanting to play these games. [nextpage] Gears of War Gears of War has proven to be one of the best selling and critically acclaimed shooter of this generation. It’s dark, gritty, action packed, great cast, amazing multiplayer, and a pretty decent story to boot. If you are a strictly PS3 gamer and have not played this game, you are seriously missing out on the greatness that millions of fans have already experienced. Shadow ...

While navigating the numerous video gaming sites, gamers often come across articles highlighting some of the sexiest characters in videogames. Whether it is "Sexiest Capcom Characters" or "Sexiest Women in Gaming History," the simple fact remains, all these smoking dudes and dudets get all the attention. Not all heroes and characters found in games are as attractive as the ones featured in many of those articles. So why not show those ugly bastards some love? After all, they give us just as much enjoyment as their sexy and attractive counterparts. So we decided to round up some of the ugliest characters found in videogames and gave them their moment in the spot light. Be warned, these characters don’t just bump uglies, they take ugly head on. ...

Last week we brought you some of the best Nintendo art that you won’t find in a museum of modern art. The pieces were wonderfully done and well crafted. Most of the items were limited to standard canvases for display in someone’s living room. This time we thought it would be interesting to highlight some videogame art that call the streets their home, not the band The Street, the actual streets, like with bums and the smell of urine. We mean graffiti and yes, it’s a crime… not to highlight these stellar pieces.[nextpage] One of the best places to hunt down videogame street art is in big cities. But let’s be honest, the big city can be a drag. The rush to work is brutal, and people are usually being caught off guard by the rain with no umbrella ...

It's amazing how quickly an online gaming match can turn the most avid and go lucky of gamers, into a seething mass of anger. However much a game may rock and receive high praises from the critics there are still variables associated with the game that might turn many players off. I’m referring to our gaming peers. More often than anyone would like, we encounter players online that absolutely ruin your gaming session and as a result many players refuse to go online and play their favorite titles. I personally know several people who refuse to have their gaming experience ruined by some jerk online. If you are an online gamer, I guarantee that you have run into one of these issues at one time or another.[nextpage]

Being a gamer in these times is a great thing and we have it easy. No longer do we have to deal with the annoying problems that past generations had to suffer while playing our favorite games. We'd play levels for hours. Not because the game was extremely challenging but because you were just unlucky enough to be standing near the ledge while dodging a bullet and dying in a pit in... Mega Man, more like mega lame. But those days are over and it’s good to be us. Or is it? Even with all the fancy technology being used to develop and run our favorite games we often times still encounter things that are just downright annoying. So with the help of our community we selected some annoying moments from our beloved source of infatuation.[nextpage]

A few weeks back Capcom presented Resident Evil fans something they have been craving since Resident Evil 4 and even more so after the release of Resident Evil 5. Lost in Nightmares was the first of two episodes for the “zombie” infested franchise that was actually as scary as a positive pregnancy test when you least expect it. It found you exploring another old mansion with stupid puzzles and old school zombies, but the scares were there. Though the experience was short, it still was a super sweet ride. This time around, Capcom has once again abandoned the scares and replaced it with explosives in the latest episode, Desperate Escape. However, if you’re as much of a wimp like me and prefer to have loads of ammo, guns, health and all that jazz packed in the original ...

Portables are all the rage these days with all these whippersnappers running around with their fancy Nintendo and PlayStation gaming systems. One might feel a little awkward being a full grown adult in a suit taking public transportation to work, playing the PSP just like the little four-year-old sitting across from you. What will the world think? When the PSP first launched it was a slick new piece of technology that many did not have including that little kiddie sitting across from you. Now every time without fail, you can spot a PSP in someone’s hand. You’re not so cool anymore. You’re just like the masses. Don't fret. Stand out from the huddled masses and their stock PSP’s and join an elite club of only a few who truly have a unique, attention grabbing, ...

Not too long ago both Microsoft and Sony unveiled motion sensing devices that provided somewhat the same experience of the already established Wiimote but with their own take on the technology. While Microsoft has added a title to their motion sensing device Sony is particularly coy about what their motion controller will be called. Even after THQ's own CEO, Brian Farrell, repeatedly referred to the unit as the “PlayStation Arc”, Sony still hasn't confirmed anything. Even after a web domain playstationarc.com has been registered, Sony still looks up in the sky and changes the subject by saying, "Oh, the clouds look lovely today."[nextpage] Without an official name, we are left to our own device and make something up, just so we have something to call it. And with ... |
