Since there are a number of little, and some big changes we are introducing, as we add on new features, I wanted to document them here. FYI - this isn't a thread for bugs, that's another one. To be honest, update of this thread likely is going to be spotty. But I figure I'd give it a go.
- In the forums, quote nesting reduced to 2.
- Search function for forums has been activated across all forums.
- On the main forum pages, when you view threads now, you can jump to specific pages on that thread.
- Added new Hot Thread feature. For any posts that are updated within the last 24 hours, it will be considered a Hot Thread, and will show an icon next to it. The Hot Thread icon will expire in 24 hours if no activity is going on.
- Added in a new field for MY PROFILE. You can now add in classic gaming consoles you own

We are reworking our header bar to make it more streamlined and easier to find what you need.
- The logo, and main navigation and search tool are all on the same bar now.
- The login and registration box is now on the right side, which is more standard for most websites.
- Also the ad box is moved up higher, so that it doesn't break the navigation in half.
We'll continue to play with the color scheme to make them look better for each section of the site. So don't be surprised if the colors change on you suddenly!

The Godfather is now stepping in to manage site enhancements.
4 new notable features:
- The blogs have a new quick reply commenting system. Now when you want to comment on a blog, a comment boxes ups up right there, so you don't have to wait for a new page to load.
- Avatars in the forums are now 50% bigger.
- In the forums, you can easily jump to just about any page on a long ongoing thread.
- New BBCODE for the forums. You can now hide spoilers using either of the two following codes. The second code below lets you include a headline for your spoiler

New Forum Features:
- Jump Menu: This new drop down menu, located at the top of every forum page, let's you quickly jump to any section of the forums.
- Posts Per Page Setting: You can now set how many posts you want to see per page. You can now view up to 40 posts per page, up from the standard 10. This feature is only available to users who are logged in. To access this feature, go here.
MY SITE Improvements:
- On MY SITE, the navigation has been simplified.
- Each update you make in MY ACTIVITIES will now link to that specific page you updated.

New changes coming in Jan, 2010!We are implementing a couple of new changes starting on Jan 01, 2010.
- Per user suggestion, all blog posts will be worth 2 $Karma Points, instead of one. Forum posts and commenting are still worth 1 $Karma Point.
- We will launch a new page called Latest Activity, which will highlight all the updates across the site from various members.
- We will also start to feature more member content as well on the homepage.
- 50% fewer ads for members. If you are a member of the site, and are logged in, then you will see fewer ads.
- We will offer up more digital downloadable games, as a way for International folks outside the US to also earn some swag in the swag auction.

- Over on the Sega Nerds site, there is now an easy way to check out which threads have been updated recently. You can just click on Hot Forum Threads from the navigation.
- We created a tips and FAQ page for blogging. You can access the page when you are editing or creating a blog, by click on the link at the top of the blogging area. Or you can just click here!
- You can now edit tags while in the edit mode for blogs. You can also edit tags for your blog by just going directly to the blog, and scrolling down to where the tags are. There should be an option to ADD or EDIT tags there.

New forum features:
We recently rolled out some much requested forum features. So dig in.
- You now have the ability to QUICK REPLY to a specific post.
- You also have the ability to QUICK REPLY to the overall thread. No need for you to click through to another page.
- When QUICK REPLYING you now see the last 5 posts in the thread.
- Media (ie. images, videos) will now be included when you QUOTE a previous post.
- The Recent Conversations link on the main Kartel forums now displays 15 posts made on any forum thread on any forum board on the network. It'll pull up the lastest posts from the last several days. It also scrolls faster too.
- We just launched a Hot Forum Threads link on the Sega Nerds navigation so that you can easily see which threads have been updated recently.

- Now on your blog, your name will show up below the headline, in addition to being on the left nav column.
- When you receive an email notice now from The Kartel, it will have more info that shows you who emailed you, as well as their Avatar image.

- Now on the homepage, the author of the featured blogs is shown.
- On the homepage, there is a new module that highlights some of the new members. Welcome them on board!
- Want to know how many people have viewed your profile? Now you can on the left hand site of MY SITE!
- We are testing out a new layout for blog pages. We moved a bunch of stuff below the blog to help speed up the load, and to allow people to find more information.
- Forum moderators now have a new tag under their Avatar: Mod Squad.

- Some people have requested that there be an easier way to find quick announcements regarding the site. So we just launched a new call out box on the upper right hand side of the homepage called The Godfather Says. I'll update this box when we have something particularly cool to announce.
- Not all community blogs show up on the homepage now. We did this to help reduce spam blogs or filler blogs from getting around. So how do you get your blogs featured then? Our editorial team will actively comb through all blogs and if we see that you have written sometime interesting, we'll write about it in our weekly Community Blogs Highlights. In addition, you may eventually get added to a short list of people who get their blogs automatically featured on the homepage. If you feel like you have a particularly interesting blog you wrote that you want to bring to our attention, you can also email Admin(at)TheKartel.com
