Hey all, While our site right now is live, we are still in a late beta stage, so there are some outstanding bugs we still need to squash under our Timberlands. Here are a few of them, just so you don't go crazy wondering what the hooha is wrong.
Please note that since the site is constantly evolving, and we are adding new features all the time, the list of potential issues is simply never ending. So please be patient as we tackle various issues one by one. - $ sign doing a disappearing act - If you go back and edit your blog, your "$" may disappear. Which can be annoying if you are writing about money, so avoid writing about money right now. - Odd date change - On rare instances, if you create a blog, the date may change to 1969. Not so sure why that year is special, but you'll notice the date change when you are confirming your blog post. Just go back and change it. - When managing your blog posts, even though your tags may be live, it may not show up show up on that specific blog management page. - Blog status self changing - On some rare instances, when you go back and edit a blog, it will change from PUBLIC to DRAFT. So if suddenly you noticed that your blog isn't showing up on the site, it likely did the ol' switcheroo you on and you didn't notice. You can just change it back to PUBLIC. And if you do run into any other issues, please post it up here, or email us. We'll get cracking on it right away.

Lots of little fixes have been taken care of this past week! I'm listing a few of the more obvious ones. - Load times on certain pages seem heavy. - Forum avatars not displaying properly. - Formatting in the picture gallery needs work. - When you log in, it takes you to MY SITE. It should take you back to the last page you were on.

It appears that two new bugs have cropped up today. 1. Subdirectories for images are not working properly, so you won't be able to create them right now. You can save images into your general public gallery, and move then into a subdirectory later once we get it fixed. 2. A number of people who recently were imported into our system are having trouble updating their avatar image, as the link to UPLOAD PHOTO isn't showing up for them. These two issues could be related, since they both have to do with the photo system. We're looking into all this right now.

Some more issues addressed. Once issues are addressed, they will be crossed out. The MORE link for photo galleries not taking you to the right place. On MY SPOTLIGHT on your MY SITE page, the bullet points aren't displaying. Tagged pages have some formatting issues.

- Spell checker in the forums and blogs are not working properly. They capture misspelled words in the same paragraph. But if you hit the return button, the spellchecker deactivates the words it flagged previously. - Spacing issues in the forums are introducing way too many paragraph breaks. - Formatting issues cropping up the Godfather admin account have been fixed. Cutting and pasting Microsoft Word content doesn't not make the site happy.

FIXED - Certain users are not seeing their overall $Karma Point count.
- Certain users that were imported in have a post count that did not match up with their previous post count.
FIXED - Certain email notices about updated post replies are not linking to the right blog. Could be a factor of whether someone changed the blog date.
FIXED - A link for View More Story is showing up on blog posts for the homepage, even though if you click on that link, you'll notice that there actually isn't more story to read.
FIXED - The Redeem Coupon Code button on the My Points page isn't working. For now please use the Redeem Coupon Code button on the My Site page.

- Formatting for the Recent Conversations page has been improved. - Certain users indicate that they have to log in each time they come to the site - Solved: The site should keep you logged in if you use the same computer. But if you switch computers, it will ask you to log in again. - Previous links to the SegaNerds.com site that existed on a bunch of other sites were broken. This has to do with the fact the site now exists on a new network. - Solved: We created a new script that will properly direct traffic to the right place. All previous links are now working!

Note that if you are running into any bugs, please email me at admin@ TheKartel.com
Depending on the type of bug, it could be addressed relatively quickly. Because we use a platform shared by many sites, some larger issues are addressed in code deployments, after testing is done. Code deployments happen in rather regular intervals of at least once a month.
Thanks everyone for taking are of bugs.
- When editing posts in the forums, the $ will disappear.
- If you send a message using the private messaging system on the site, and there is no headline, the recipient can't open the message.
- Winners of the swag auction are receiving emails that don't clearly explain what they won, or how to redeem certain prizes.
- Removed the COMMENT BACK feature, because people were confused that it sent a comment to a user's profile, and not to the blog they were commenting on.

Some users seem to have a cookie related issue when using Safari on a MAC. The issue is that each time they come to the site, they have to relogin, when the site should automatically have you logged in to begin with.
If you have one of these users, please contact me directly, and let me see if I can get to the bottom of it. So far, we haven't been able to replicate this issue, so it might be something specific to user settings.
